What is live in care:
Live in care is a specialised service enabling a person to remain in their own home whilst removing the responsibility of having to care for themselves. This enables the client to remain free from worry to relax and enjoy life knowing that everything will be taken care of.
What are the benefits for the client?
For a client, the benefits of fewer carers used should ensure a more consistant level of care. We try therefore to use only 2 carers, on a severn day on and 7 day off basis. It is important that the client is comfortable with their carer so that the client can continue, as far as possible to maintain the lifestyle of their choice.
What will we do for you?
The live in carer will assist with any personal care needed such as assistance with getting in and out of bed, bathing, and dressing at a time that suits the client; the service also includes light housework, shopping and preparing meals, accompanying clients to the hospital or other appointments, and enabling family and friends to spend quality time with their loved one.
The carer will also arrange to accompany their client on outings or outside activities to enable the individual to continue with or find new interests and remain in contact with friends.
Both the client and carer will need personal time, and 'live in' care does not mean that the client and carer must be in the same room all the time.
Individuality
Each client is an individual with varying needs and each 'live in' package will be tailored to suit the wishes and needs of each individual client; for those who need lifting equipment and other aids, or require the use of a wheelchair this will have to be arranged and provided before the 'live in' service can commence.
